About the artist Rachid Ben Ali (born 1978, Morocco) is a Dutch-Moroccan contemporary painter and draftsman. He lives and works in Amsterdam and London. Ben Ali developed a highly recognizable style in which figuration and expressiveness come together. His works are characterized by strong lines, vibrant colors and great energy. His work has gained wide recognition in the Netherlands and has been exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Groninger Museum, the Cobra Museum in Amstelveen and the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam. In 2000, Ben Ali’s works were also part of the exhibition De Voorstelling at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, curated by Queen Beatrix.
