The blue color observed in some Sardinian samples is generally linked to traces of copper present in hydrothermal fluids that passed through the lead-zinc mineralizations of the district. The Iglesiente mining district in Sardinia is historically renowned for its lead and zinc mines, whose cavities have produced over the years numerous and sought-after secondary minerals for collections.
