Rare florescent purple spinal specimen under UV light...

Fluorescent Purple Spinel with Feldspar Matrix – Badakhshan, Afghanistan This rare natural Spinel specimen from the Badakhshan mines of Afghanistan has a total weight of 235 grams and measures approximately 71 × 70 × 32 mm. The specimen features natural purple Spinel crystals grown on both sides of a Feldspar matrix. The Spinel crystals have natural crystal formations and terminations, creating an attractive contrast against the light-coloured Feldspar. The Feldspar matrix itself has an interesting crystalline structure, adding to the overall character and uniqueness of the specimen. One of the most distinctive features of this piece is its strong fluorescence under UV light. The purple Spinel shows a visible colour change from purple to red under UV illumination, as demonstrated in the photographs. This fluorescent response makes the specimen particularly interesting for collectors who appreciate minerals with unusual optical properties. The specimen is self-standable, allowing it to be displayed easily from different angles. With Spinel crystals occurring on both sides of the Feldspar matrix and its striking UV response, this is an attractive piece for mineral collection and display.
