Antique French Faience Holy Water Font 18th An 18th century glazed earthenware stoup is an elegant and decorative religious piece, used to hold holy water. Made from earthenware, it has a smooth, shiny surface thanks to the enameling typical of the craftsmanship of the period. This type of stoup, intended for domestic or ecclesiastical use, reflects the skills of the period's earthenware makers, with Baroque or Rococo influences, characterized by curved shapes and detailed decoration. Both functional and artistic, it bears witness to the piety and refined taste of the 18th century.
