Beautiful impression in the same direction as the original by Rembrandt in 1641, depicting the Norwegian-born preacher Cornelis Claesz Anslo. A trimmed impression within the border, on heavy laid paper, in excellent condition, only a very slight yellowish spot upper right (see photo). Originating from a nineteenth-century edition of Rembrandt's works. The date and signature are barely visible on the backrest of the chair on the right: "Rembrandt f. / 1641". The preacher is portrayed bust-length, seated at a table with his hand on a book, face turned to the left; on the table other books, one open. for Hind, 187; New Hollstein, (Rembrandt) 197; White & Boon, 271; Hinterding, 45.
