Alle Auktionen / Bücher, Karten, Handschriften / René Descartes & Adolphe Garnier - Œuvres philosophiques...
Superb four-volume set that brings together a substantial collection of texts allowing readers to follow the main stages of René Descartes' thought and to understand the foundational role he occupies in modern philosophy, with an introduction and editorial apparatus associated with Adolphe Garnier - This publication is part of the 19th-century movement aimed at making great philosophical texts more accessible to cultivated readers, to students and to educational institutions, while offering an orderly reading of a work whose influence extends far beyond the field of metaphysics - Cartesian thought rests first on a demand for method, intended to lead the mind toward certain knowledge by freeing it as much as possible from prejudices, intellectual habits, and insufficiently founded assertions - René Descartes & Adolphe Garnier - Œuvres philosophiques de Descartes - 1834/1835 - Tome I, II, III, IV - Librairie Classique et Elémentaire de L.
