rft messelektronik otto schön dresden pistonfon pf 101...

For sale is an exceptionally well-preserved and complete collector's set of a historic pistonfon PF 101 (Type 00 003) from East German production. The device was manufactured by the renowned VEB Messelektronik “Otto Schön” Dresden (RFT) and is a milestone of acoustic measurement technology in the Eastern Bloc. This highly precise, battery-powered laboratory instrument served as a sound level calibrator for the exact calibration of measurement microphones and sound level meters. It mechanically generates a defined sound pressure level via piston stroke (approximately 118 dB at 180 Hz). Special highlights of this offer: • Complete completeness: The cylindrical pistonfon main unit is housed in the original, precisely fitted wooden case (box) including the original adapter rings in the upper compartment. • Integrated aneroid barometer: The original precision barometer for air pressure correction is firmly built into the case and visually flawless. • Original test protocol: The factory-issued, handwritten test protocol (matched to the serial number, dated 20.06.1978) is included. An extremely rare document! • Historical provenance (origin): The box bears the original DDR inventory label of Karl-Marx-University Leipzig (KMU) from the Department of Animal Production and Veterinary Medicine (Inv.-No. 341 / 8-44104). This makes the device a documented piece of East German scientific history. Condition: • Visual: Very good, clean, and well-preserved original condition. The device, the barometer, and the protocol show no visible damage. The wooden case shows charming, age-related signs of wear that reinforce the historical character. • Technical: Untested. As no functional test has been performed, the sale is explicitly as a historical collector's item / decorative object for collections. An absolute top exhibit for collectors of DDR technology, scientific antiques, historical acoustic measuring devices, or memorabilia of the University of Leipzig. Shipping is extremely securely padded, worldwide, and exclusively insured with tracking.
