Antique sheet in pure cotton fabric forming part of a traditional Italian wedding trousseau from the 20th century. The sheet has never been used but shows a small mend visible in the last photo. The vintage cotton has a firm texture from the regular weave, visible along the ironing creases. Hand embroidery: at the center of the turned hem stands a rich floral motif with branching stems, entirely handmade in white on white, including classic techniques such as satin stitch and grass stitch. The upper edge is adorned with a linear fringe, known in Italian textile tradition as the gigliuccio stitch, which joins the embroidered ruffle to the rest of the fabric.
