He began his artistic career in 2004 and created his first work, a red-violet resin crocodile, which quickly became an iconic piece of the sculptor’s bestiary. The artist draws inspiration from pop culture, everyday objects, the popular. Quickly, Richard Orlinski develops new sculptures, often animals, all symbols of freedom, power and passion. The result are electric works with pop colours and a faceted style that travel the world. Very quickly, exhibiting his often spectacular works in unusual, outdoor venues becomes his hallmark. Motivated by the desire to democratize art and make it accessible to as many people as possible, Richard Orlinski explores all means of expression and his art knows no borders. In 2021, he was named Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot-Narquin. With several million followers on social networks, Richard Orlinski brings together a community of enthusiasts and devoted fans. An undeniable source of inspiration for the artist who commits 100% to each of his projects. “I deeply believe in the power of art; often, people don’t dare to push open the door of a gallery or a museum, so I make the museum come to them!” (c. 100 B.C.) The famous statue of Aphrodite is the symbol of eternal beauty. We know her by the name Venus de Milo, or Aphrodite of Melos, after the Greek island where she was discovered in 1820. Aphrodite, whom the Romans later named Venus, was the goddess of love and beauty, born from the silvery foam (aphros) of the sea. The style of the Venus de Milo combines both Hellenistic and Classical characteristics. Her bust is much more classical than the lower part of her body. The statue was carved from seven blocks of marble. The goddess is depicted in a characteristic contrapposto pose: supported on one leg, slightly slung, which gives her body provocative curves. We can hardly imagine today what the statue originally looked like, with exuberant colors, adornments and jewelry. Aphrodite probably held in her left hand the apple offered by Paris of Troy. “decorative object, luxury item, table art, collector, interior decoration, statuette, sculpture, no panther, no kong, no stik, no koons, no basquiat, no banksy, no swoon, pop art” Photos are part of the description. This beautiful object will add a touch of elegance to your interior. Fast and careful shipping.
