This French mid-century modern ceramic advertising ashtray was produced by Roceram for the Messageries Maritimes shipping line. The piece features a stylized irregular trapezoidal form finished in an olive green glaze, with a raised back panel embossed with the company name and a corporate logo depicting a unicorn head superimposed over an anchor.
