Louis Pasteur, born on December 27, 1822, in Dole (Jura) and died on September 28, 1895, in Marnes-la-Coquette (Hauts-de-Seine, at that time in Seine-et-Oise), was a French scientist, trained as a chemist and physicist. His scientific career began with gradual experimentation on minerals, insects, and then plants, in microbiology. He then turned to the study of alcoholic fermentation, and finally to human health with the rabies vaccination, which made him famous. Roger-Viollet is a photographic agency founded in 1938 by Hélène Roger-Viollet, located at 6 Rue de Seine in Paris. Its collections, which include eight million phototypes, were bequeathed to the City of Paris in 1985 and integrated into the Historical Library of the City of Paris in January 2018. sends by La Poste
