Rolex Zenith Daytona Ref. 16520 'A-series' - Maunder Watch Co.

Maunder Watch Co are pleased to offer this beautiful example of an A series Rolex Zenith Daytona. This Rolex Daytona 16520 from 1999 is a highly desirable example of the final Zenith-powered “A-series” models. Featuring a Luminova dial and hands (marked “Swiss Made” at 6 o’clock), it offers a safer, non-radioactive alternative to earlier tritium versions. The watch is also fitted with the correct MKIII bezel, distinguished by its “units per hour” engraving at 1 o’clock and the presence of the “240” marking while omitting “225” and “250.” As one of the last iterations of this legendary reference, it represents a perfect blend of collectability and historical significance. The subdials have developed a stunning creamy patina, reminiscent of the coveted 1995 Patrizzi dials. This natural aging process, caused by the oxidation of the lacquer, adds a unique character to the watch, making each example one-of-a-kind. Highly sought after by collectors, this rich patina enhances the vintage appeal of the piece. Additionally, the case remains incredibly full and sharp, retaining its original proportions with thick lugs and well-defined edges. This level of preservation is rare for a watch of this age, making it an even more desirable example of the iconic Zenith-powered Daytona 16520. This particular timepiece is a A serial, produced in 1999 is presented in superb condition with original box and paperwork.
