Rolf Armstrong

This concerns the well-known work "Darlene" (also known under the title "Bedside Manner"), originally painted in 1958. It shows a classic redhead pin-up lady in elegant light lingerie on a bed, with the characteristic refined and glamorous style for which Elvgren became world-famous. "She's Tops!" from 1961, created by the legendary American pin-up painter Rolf Armstrong. The image features his famous model and muse Jewel Flowers, posing in a white bikini with a distinctive straw hat adorned with colorful flowers, while a small dog peeks out from a flower basket. This particular piece was at the time released, among other things, as a calendar plate and advertising poster by the well-known publisher Brown & Bigelow. For impression see photos. A and A-
