Romantic Vintage Necklace with Peridot and Pearls in a Historic Style

This necklace is a radiant reminder of a never-ending spring. Grass-green peridots, shimmering pearls, and sparkling diamonds create a fresh color palette that evokes the first leaves in the garden after the hardships of winter. In fact, the diamonds are even set in small silver leaves, as if the last snow were still glistening in the sunlight. Warm yellow gold shines alongside them in the colour of the sun, framing the pearls and peridots. Enchanting jewelry designs have existed in every era. But when it comes to refinement and elegant delicacy in design and craftsmanship, no era has produced such magnificent jewelry creations as the Belle Époque—those final, brief years before the outbreak of World War I. At the height of this “Beautiful Era,” pieces of jewellery were created that remain unmatched to this day. No wonder, then, that these designs have repeatedly served as models for jewellery in subsequent eras. The necklace presented here draws inspiration from the elegant garland style of the early 20th century. Its design, featuring the movable chains, its lightness, and its colours are clearly the result of a study of historical models. However, the use of modern brilliant-cut diamonds and the style of the peridot settings reveal that it was created later; we estimate around the turn of the millennium. We discovered the necklace in Frankfurt am Main. It is very good.
