Vintage Bethlehem mother-of-pearl rosary, created in the Christian artisanal tradition of the Holy Land and datable to the 1950s-1960s. The numerous facets of natural mother-of-pearl beads are accompanied by a mother-of-pearl cross with Christ in gilded metal. On the back of the cross is the significant inscription “BETHLEHEM”, evidence of provenance. Of substantial size, it measures about 58 cm in length. A evocative devotional object and historical reminder of pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
