Rosenthal

Rosenthal Sanssouci – Tableware for 10 people – German high-end porcelain Put up for auction is a refined set of Rosenthal dinner plates, about 22 cm in diameter — Sanssouci model — plus a wonderful oval service plate with handles, one of the most iconic and recognizable lines from the historic German manufactory. The raised Rococo-inspired decoration, elegant and scenographic, evokes the great European traditions of fine porcelain. Rosenthal porcelain quality is universally compared to the most important historic manufactories such as Richard Ginori (Old Ginori) and Meissen: the same pursuit of detail, the same purity of white, the same definition in the reliefs and the brilliance of the glaze. Sanssouci represents for Rosenthal what the great classic tableware represents for Ginori and Meissen: a symbolic, timeless model, always in demand on the international collectors’ market. The finely molded Baroque relief creates a sophisticated play of light, adding depth to the table without the need for gold or polychrome decorations. A sober luxury, of Central European school. Lot composition: • 10 dinner plates, 22 cm • 1 serving plate, 36 x 32 Excellent condition, sharp reliefs and bright glaze. Harmonious, ideal for collectors, for a representative residence, or for those who desire a tablescape of a higher level, with slightly faded gold. A European classic, always solid on the market and sought after for the elegance and prestige of the brand.
