Alle Auktionen / Sonstige / Rosenthal - Bjorn Wiinblad - Vase - Porcelain - H. 33 cm / 1001 Nights
Large and especially expressive porcelain vase, designed by Bjørn Wiinblad for the famous series “1001 Nights”. On a deep cobalt blue, Wiinblad’s unmistakable oriental fantasy world unfolds. A richly adorned, fairy-tale figure forms together with fanciful birds and floral elements the central motif. Vivid orange, green, turquoise, pink and violet tones are accented by numerous gold-colored details, creating a particularly intense contrast with the dark ground. The backside is also elaborately designed and decorated with abstract birds, blossoms and ornamental elements. The unusually flat, outwardly flaring shape further enhances the impact of the large-format décor. The series “1001 Nights” is among the characteristic designs by Bjørn Wiinblad for Rosenthal and is especially known for its colorful figural worlds and the combination of oriental-inspired fairy-tale motifs with Wiinblad’s own distinctive design language.
