Russia (Empire) - Military medal - Imperial Russia - Rare...

Exceptional and rare Imperial Russian Order of St. Anne, III Class with Swords, awarded to an officer for bravery or eminent merit facing the enemy. This highly symbolic military award dates back to the reign of Tsar Nicholas II (late 19th - early 20th century). • Material: Solid 14-karat gold (official Russian hallmark of 56 zolotniks). • Hallmarks: • The official "56" hallmark is perfectly visible and crisp on the upper attachment ring of the cross. • The original double-loop suspension ring features its official oval hallmark for precious metal verification. • Craftsmanship: Beautiful guilloché work under translucent red enamel. The quadrants hold two crossed swords in solid gold. • Miniature Paintings: Hand-painted enamel centerpieces. The obverse depicts St. Anne, and the reverse shows the monogram "A.I.P.F." topped by the imperial crown. • Condition: Beautiful, untouched historical condition with a magnificent natural patina (never chemically cleaned). Minor age wear on the enamel, completely normal for a military medal over a century old.
