Indovino Venezia are Italian antiquarian and collectible glass items, dating roughly to the first decade of the 20th century. Decorated with acid finishes, wheel engravings, or details and finishes themed. The glasses have a slightly flared shape (inverted cone trunk) that rests on a thick and sturdy base with a ring. The decoration is in Baroque style with an engraving of a lady with a cavalier. Vetreria SIVA, founded and based in Venice during the 20th century (with a production particularly active and appreciated in the first half of the century, around the 1910s/1930s), the company of Mario Indovino specialized in creating artistic glass and very high-quality tableware. SIVA was famous for its mastery of acid engraving and hand finishes. This technique allowed the characteristic cameos-like, velvety, and slightly shaded effect, perfect for floral figures, foliate motifs, and dynamic scenes (such as the juggler/dancer on the balloon goblet). The pieces bore the original paper label: an oval or rectangular label bearing the inscription SIVAM INDOVINO VENEZIA. Highly sought after on the market of antique and collectible fine art glass.
