Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life runs deep in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting and chroming. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time transform into an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always safeguarded. What for decades had been "just" a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his know-how as a craftsman into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. The object is a unique Sagrasse creation. It is a handmade work, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of fully manual workmanship.
