Sagrasse (1966) - Sweet babel

Sagrasse (1966) - Sweet babel

Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life has roots in masterful craftsmanship. For forty years he has worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, painting, and chrome plating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the stopping of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern pop sculptures, vibrant and ironic. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - Sweet babel Technique: resin and marble dust Measurements: 29x17x17 cm Condition: new. Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed. Edition: limited edition 499ex - colors The work will be carefully packed and shipped by courier with tracking. In recent years his work has earned important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Among these are the presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, the collaboration with the Center of Art and Culture VERUM, and the inclusion of his works within the renowned Private Collection Fuser. From artisan to hallmark of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse shows how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognizable artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master craftsman who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic, and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly in the vein of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for the strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of everyday life or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handmade piece, conceived and produced entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of completely manual craftsmanship. It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean without using detergents, but only a soft cloth.
