Her beige trench coat is open in the front, and the rest of the body is suggested beneath the fabric. The white wall and light parquet leave all the room to the gaze. The painting nods to Hopper and to the Waiting Portrait, that immobile figure who seems about to rise. It is unclear whether she is awaiting a visitor or a decision. The spectator enters the room as if into an office where someone has been summoned. A figure of silence, between fragility and control. Mixed technique: acrylic paint on pigment ink print, matte varnish. Varnish applied by hand, for depth of color and lasting protection of the work. The through line is the silence of the rooms and looks. The white interiors, the windows, the worn parquet floors and the city façades serve as a backdrop for figures who say nothing, leaving it to the viewer to guess what comes next.
