A limited independent bottling from Savanna Distillery on Réunion Island, selected by Danish bottler Rom de Luxe for its Collectors Series. This is the seventh release. Distilled in 2013 and bottled in 2021 after eight years of continental maturation, the rum was given additional maturation in a cask that had previously held red wine. The release came from a single cask and was produced in limited bottles. Rom de Luxe actually selected two sister casks from this parcel, released as No.7.1 and No.7.2. This makes the pair an interesting example of how two individual casks from the same distillate and maturation period can be presented separately. Savanna has developed a strong reputation among rum enthusiasts for its characterful, small-production releases, making independent selections such as this particularly interesting to collectors.
