Entirely handcrafted in Murano, this small sculpture unites two souls of Venetian glass: the ruby red of a heart and the transparency of a block of crystal filled with bubbles. The heart, shaped hot in transparent ruby red solid glass, has a soft, slightly asymmetric form, tilted with grace as if resting on the base in balance. The rounded, thicker edges define its profile, while at the center the color becomes deeper; when viewed against the light the red lights up with warm tones, up to orange. At the base of the heart, where it is fused to the crystal, the glass reveals a subtle golden veil. The base is a cube of crystal glass with a bubble effect: the glass mass is pierced by a dense cloud of air bubbles, small and large, that catch the light and multiply it into brilliant reflections. It is a Murano technique dating from the twenties, which gives the glass a lively, almost effervescent look. The base surfaces, polished but deliberately imperfect, resemble a block of ice. The contrast between the solid red of the heart and the sparkling transparency of the base makes the sculpture an elegant and symbolic design object, perfect on a desk, a shelf, or a bedside table.
