Sculpture, Lion - Vallauris - 46 cm - Earthenware - 1940

Beautiful decorative sculpture depicting a lion in motion, made of glazed ceramic in a deep, glossy green. The piece has a strong presence, with well-defined musculature and a well-modeled mane, typical of decorative animal sculptures of the 20th century. Very attractive decorative effect thanks to the nuances of the green glaze and its glossy finish. Height 18 cm Width 46 cm Depth 15 cm Very good overall condition, no cracks; 2 tiny chips, see last photo.
