The Virgin is represented at the center of the composition, suspended above the globe, while she tramples a serpent, symbol of original sin and of the triumph of good over evil. Around the Marian figure are arranged angels and cherubs, immersed in a heavenly atmosphere characterized by clouds and golden luminosity. The composition presents a monumental, late Baroque staging, with particular attention to gesture, movement of the drapery, and the scenographic construction of space. Of particular interest are the serene face of the Virgin, with a gaze turned upward, and the angelic figure on the right, described through soft chiaroscuro transitions and a delicate modulation of the flesh tones. Stylistically, the work appears referable to the late 17th-century Italian painting culture and early 18th-century, with elements attributable to the devotional Baroque tradition of Emilian and Central Italian matrix.
