Senator - President - No reserve price - Fountain pen

A0000005127 The pen presents itself in excellent overall condition for its age, maintaining great aesthetic charm and functionality after having been serviced. It is an extremely rare and interesting specimen for the international collection: a Sailor President fountain pen in the "German Nib Edition" (circa the 1990s) in Oversize format, configured in a sleek black glossy plastic resin (Jet Black) with refined gold-plated details. What makes this piece truly fascinating and unique is its hybrid nature: it combines Sailor's refined Japanese resin design with an extraordinary nib forged and imported from Germany by special order for this edition. The body and cap, made from the renowned high-density acrylic resin of the Japanese house, remain in magnificent condition, showing a deep, very clean shine. Light signs of use, storage marks, and micro-scratches due to vintage handling are translucently evident, entirely normal. The structure retains absolute integrity, free from cracks, splits, or deep chips. An element of enormous relevance for cataloging and collection is the fantastic condition of its wide gold-plated center band, where the official inscription is legible and raised against a sandblasted background: "SAILOR PRESIDENT." Just above the body thread, it factory-includes a discreet transparent rectangular window intended for clear inspection of the ink level. The gold-plated clip, with a straight and sober profile, is in good structural condition, properly aligned and fully functional, maintaining its excellent grip. The black resin grip section is clean, offering a firm hold and threads in excellent airtight condition relative to the body. The two-tone nib with an open profile is a sumptuous piece that testifies to the industrial collaboration of the era. It gleams with clear traditional German-forge engravings: "IRIDIUM POINT / GERMANY" next to the thickness code "M" (Medium). The breather and feed are perfectly aligned with its original feeding system. The pen has been serviced, completely cleaned of dry ink residues, and the filling system (cartridges or converter) is operational, delivering it fully ready to write. Overall, this is an imposing and robust writing instrument, exceptionally cared for. A highly sought-after multicultural hybrid among collectors of rare Sailor variants, ideal for those seeking Japanese ergonomics paired with the legendary reliability of German engineering. Care recommendations It is recommended to use high-quality fountain pen inks (preferably water-based and non-pigmented), perform periodic cleaning with warm water if you plan to store it long-term or before changing ink color, and thoroughly dry the components. For cosmetic maintenance, clean the resin surface and gold ornaments with a soft microfiber cloth after use to remove fingerprints and preserve the luster. Store the item in a protective individual case away from extreme temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the resin’s stability. It will be shipped in a courtesy box for proper preservation. Happy bidding!
