Alle Auktionen / Silber & Gold / Set Art Nouveau (1868-1920) Zuur/vleesvorken in originele etui - C.J

This concerns 2 identical Art Nouveau Dutch silver sour forks with 2 tines by C.J. Begeer in an original luxury case. The handles of the forks are made of silver and beautifully worked with floral motifs (see photos). The prong portion is made of metal. It is logical that the prong portion is not silver, because silver tarnishes upon contact with acids. The forks are also suitable as meat forks, but were originally intended as sour/augur forks. The forks are identically marked and belong together. They form a set. These Art Nouveau sour/meat forks come from an inheritance/estate of a family from Voorburg. Edel Erfgoed may offer these cutlery pieces on Catawiki for a MINIMUM/RESERVE PRICE of 125 euros. The following information is relevant: Country of origin: Netherlands Marked: Yes (see photos) Master mark: C.B. = C.J. Begeer (1868-1920) Style: Art Nouveau Silver content mark: Old sword = 2nd quality (833/1000) Length: 19.2 cm Fork weight: 69 grams Gross weight: 216 grams Condition: Fine (see the photos for reference) Note: The set of forks is delivered in the original luxury case with red velvet on the inside. The box closes well but shows signs of wear. These beautiful identical Art Nouveau sour forks in the original case are well packaged and sent by registered mail and insured, but they can also be collected by appointment at Edel Erfgoed in Klarenbeek, Netherlands (near Apeldoorn).
