Shepard Fairey (OBEY) Lithograph Signed and Dated by Hand: The large-format silkscreen titled "RADICAL CAT" references J. Edgar Hoover, longtime FBI director, known for surveilling and targeting the Black Panthers and numerous political movements and activists in the United States. PRINT DETAILS: Artist: Shepard Fairey (OBEY GIANT) Title: "RADICAL CAT OFFSETS" Shepard Fairey (OBEY) Lithograph Signed, dated by hand Edition: Limited edition Technique: Serigraphy on 300 gsm cream-colored Speckletone fine art paper (80 lb) Overall dimensions: 20 x 16 inches Signed, Dated, directly by the Artist Year: 2026 Mint Condition ABOUT: This image of the “Radical Cat,” which I keep receiving requests for, was originally created for an animal-themed art show some years ago. Since a “cat video” is a euphemism for the dumbest, lowest-quality content you can find on the internet, I decided to try to tie my distinctive cat image to something meaningful to me in a playful way. I have long been a fan of Black Panther activism and I thought of using another euphemism, “black cats,” which in the language of the 1960s/70s referred to fashionable Black people, to emphasize that the Black Panthers were vilified and hunted by J. Edgar Hoover and the FBI because they were considered “radical” and an internal terrorist threat (presumably). It’s the same silliness that the Department of Justice under Trump is trying to use against antifascists and other protesters… don’t fall for it! If you don’t know Hoover’s mission to destroy the Black Panthers, educate yourself. I recommend Bobby Seale’s book, co-founder of the Black Panther Party, “Seize the Time.” And for any of you who love black cats, know that you’re fantastic too: a portion of the proceeds from this print will be donated to the ASPCA for the work they do in finding homes for dogs and cats. Stay radical! -Shepard- Reinforced packaging - International courier shipping. Absolutely new, original packaging. Shipment insured, very well protected, packed with the utmost care and shipped with international tracking. The lithograph is already in the EU - There are no duties and import taxes to be paid by European buyers (EEC).
