All thirteen issues of the Buddhist Society of America reproduced in facsimile with foreward, appendix, glossary and index. Presentation Copy, Number 150 of Five Hundred copies . This copy presented to Helen Koons Klamroth. Included is a two page typed letter on The First Zen Institute of America letterhead to the original owner signed by Ruth Fuller Sasaki and dated October 10, 1947. Oversize volume in original tan cloth boards with cat illustration in black on front cover, spine title in black, illustrated endpapers, with portrait frontispiece of Sokei-An taken in 1935. 72 pages with numerous photographs and black and white illustrations throughout. Spine ends and corners bumped or fraying, top portion of front hinge starting, light wear and thumbing. An important source and reference for students and scholars of Zen. Scarce, especially with the signed letter to the original owner by Ruth Fuller Sasaki, the author's widow and an important figure in the development of Buddhism in the United States.
