In an auction for an iconic large-format optical bench: the Sinar f2, produced in Switzerland by Sinar starting in the 1980s. The lot includes a prestigious professional Sinaron S 210mm f/5.6 MC lens produced by Rodenstock to Sinar specifications, mounted on a Copal 1 shutter with original plate, and a precious original Sinar mask with a 6x9 format reticle for precise framing with medium-format backs. The lot presents in excellent overall condition, perfectly functional. Optics. The lenses of the Sinaron S and the rear reticle mask are in excellent conserved condition, free of scratches or traces of internal mold and fungi. Mechanical. The lot has been tested and is functioning. All movements of decentering, tilting, and micrometric focusing on the front and rear f2 mounts glide steadily and smoothly, tightening firmly into the set positions. Aesthetics. Excellent general conditions of the barrel and the entire structure, as clearly documented by the photographs. The metal bodies, bubble levels, locking knobs, the amber mask and the graduated rails retain a good visual impact, free of structural dents, showing only the normal light signs of time consistent with age.
