Slasky - OUT OF TIME No. 01

OUT OF TIME SERIES The past is not immobile. Just change the way we look at it. Slasky returns to dismantle the barriers of time with a new series that pits art history against the visual codes of the present. Images and languages of the painting tradition are traversed by geometric patterns, urban marks, graffiti and graphic interventions. Elements belonging to different eras and worlds meet on the same surface, creating a tension that changes the way we read the image without erasing its identity. This is where this new inquiry begins: take something we know, intervene on it and compel ourselves to look at it again. Slasky does not seek to make ancient painting contemporary. He leaves it intact in its strength and intervenes precisely at the point where that strength meets something unexpected. The result is an unstable balance between the solemnity of tradition and the freedom of the language of contemporary art. Not a peaceful encounter between epochs, but a collision. Because the history of art is not something we simply have behind us. It is still a living matter. And just one different look is enough to make it present again.
