Sormani - Claudio Salocchi - Bookcase - Center - Wood

Splendid and iconic rotating-centre bookshelf model *CENTRO*, designed by architect *Claudio Salocchi* in 1960 and produced by *Sormani, Arosio (Como)*, Italy. Claudio Salocchi (1934-2012) for Sormani Considered one of the absolute icons of Italian design of the 1960s, the Centro bookshelf is a sculptural project and functional at the same time: a central column in matte black painted steel on which two modular, cross-linked bookshelf bodies independently rotate, with shelves in white-cream lacquered wood. This is the purer and more refined version, fully rotatable 360°, allowing you to create an architectural “theater” in the center of the room. *Technical details:* Designer: Claudio Salocchi (Milan 1934 - Milan 2012) - Graduated from the Politecnico di Milano, vice president of ADI, professor at Sapienza University of Rome. Model: Centro Manufacturer: Sormani, Arosio Year of design: around 1960 Materials: Frame in black painted metal, storage modules in white/cream lacquered wood, base in wood Dimensions: H 215 cm approx x W 75 cm x D 75 cm (dimensions vary with the opening of the modules) Operation: Smooth manual rotation on cross base Conditions: normal signs of wear consistent with the age, but overall in excellent condition for the time of creation.
