The shell is characterized by its heavy texture, pronounced, robust knobby whorls, and a beautiful color contrast. The aperture captivates with a porcelain-like, glossy shield that transitions toward the edges from a delicate pink to a rich chocolate brown. Biological details & life cycle: The species in profile: Hexaplex kuesterianus belongs to the robust representatives of the Muricidae family. In contrast to other genus members with long, delicate spines, this species relies on massive, blunt defensive spines and thick shell walls, giving it a very primal, powerful appearance. They feed carnivorously on other mollusks and shells, which they crack or bore open with their rasping tongue and acidic secretions. Origin: This splendid specimen comes from the pristine, saline waters around Oman (traditionally known for top finds near Masirah Island) Shipping as insured parcel via DHL Sale and shipping only within the EU SKU divers/ohne - Hexaplex kuesterianugel
