Intaglio embroidery is famous for its delicacy, lightness, and transparency: an art handed down from generation to generation that requires precision, patience, and extraordinary manual skill. The technique consists of transferring to the fabric a drawing created specifically to achieve, in the end, a wide transparency resembling lace. The entire design is outlined with a double or triple stitch to give support to the fabric so it does not fray, then the joining bars between the various motifs are created.
