COLLECTION LOT — SPIROU No. 1316 (1963) AND No. 1583 (1968) Three complete old issues with their original supplements in very good condition. An attractive set of three old issues from Spirou magazine, bringing together several items sought after by Franco-Belgian comics fans: Morris and Lucky Luke, Maurice Tillieux and Gil Jourdan, Deliège and Bobo, as well as the Smurfs by Peyo, Jijé and Blondin/Cirage, Franquin, Will, Herbert, Rosy. 1. SPIROU No. 1316 — 4 JULY 1963 A particularly interesting special issue, especially for its spectacular double cover with a visual effect. This cover has an astonishing feature: the subject changes depending on the viewing distance. Viewed up close, at about 30 cm, the illustration presents a different image from what is seen when stepping back. Once the cover is fully unfolded and observed at about 5 meters, two shells appear, symbolizing the start of the holidays. The issue includes notably: • The original double cover with visual effect. • The Lucky Luke phénakistiscope, drawn by Morris, with its original cardboard backing (five animated drawings) • The mini-story No. 172: Bobo on vacation, by Paul Deliège and Maurice Rosy, still stapled originally in the booklet. • The Pursuit, complete Gil Jourdan story by Maurice Tillieux. 2. SPIROU No. 1339 - 12 DECEMBER 1963 This issue is a collectible number, especially for fans of Spirou and the Smurfs. • Mini-story No.195 – inserted in the booklet as originally • Spirou Agenda 1964 – integrated and preserved in its original condition • Experimental mini-story “The smallest mini-story in the world” by Rosy – intact. By cutting the frame through the paper’s thickness from page 63 to page 98, you would obtain a miniature and sensational volume, never cut here • Smurf Symphony in C, new Smurfs adventure - Peyo, contains the first 8 pages. 3. SPIROU No. 1583 — 15 AUGUST 1968 Complete issue including: • Mini-story No. 424: Visa for Saturn, by Gélem, still stapled in the booklet. • The original poster of the Smurfs depicting Smurfette, still stapled to the booklet (format 49 × 74 cm).
