(x) St. Vincent Great Britain used in St. Vincent Covers 1859 (26 Nov.) envelope ex the Polignac correspondence to Paris, bearing 1d. red (2) and 6d. lilac (2, both slightly defective) all cancelled and just tied by "A10" obliterators; this is the only recorded use of this franking from St. Vincent and is the fifth earliest and one of only a handful known bearing Great Britain Stamps. A very rare and attractive cover. S.G. Z1, Z4, £2,050 (off cover) provenance: Gilbert-Lodge, 1962 Lickfold, 1964 Messenger, 1983 Subject to 5% tax on Hammer Price in addition to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium.
