XXXL Schwarz Gold 1973 Canvas: 235 × 195 cm Recommended frame size: approx. 220 × 180 × 4 cm Technique: Mixed media / acrylic and gold leaf on canvas Unique piece "XXXL Schwarz Gold 1973" thrives on radical reduction to black and gold. A nearly monumental golden surface meets a deep black background. Irregular edges, fine cracks, overlays, and visible signs of handling give the surface depth and a deliberately aged, almost archaic character. Depending on the lighting, the gold changes: at times it appears bright and radiant, at other times warm, matte and almost bronze-colored. It is precisely this variability that makes the work come alive and makes the textured surface appear differently again and again. Because of its exceptionally large format of 235 × 195 cm, the painting has a strong spatial presence and is especially suitable for spacious, modern interiors, lofts, hotels, offices, or representative spaces. The canvas is larger than the intended frame size of 220 × 180 × 4 cm, thus providing enough material for a professional mounting on a stretcher frame. All works by the artist are unique. They are hand-made paintings created with various techniques. Cracks, nicks, elevations, and paint splatters are part of the painting style. They are not defects and are intentional by the artist. All works are hand-signed and shipped with a certificate of authenticity. The certificate is rolled and placed on the inner wall in the shipping tube. About the artist: Stefanie Raus is a self-taught artist from the Black Forest. She was born in 1976 and is known for her delicate paintings, often with a touch of gold leaf and strong texture. Collectors of her works live in Denmark, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Malta, the Netherlands, Italy, the Czech Republic, Singapore, Spain, Greece, Portugal, France, and Germany. Through her listing on Saatchi Art, she has already sold many works to the USA. Her paintings have been exhibited locally and internationally. In 2024 she won first place in the Kunst Online art prize.
