STEG - E-348-A Set of audio equipment

Historical German receiver STEG E-348-A, Unit No. 0421. For sale is a historic STEG E-348-A receiver, a postwar revised version of the American BC-348 receiver developed for German authorities. The device covers a frequency range of 200–500 kHz and 1.5–18.0 MHz in six bands and is designed for AM/CW reception. A switchable quartz filter is included. The E-348-A devices were used, among other things, for police and federal border protection deployments. The original front panel lists the following: Receiver E-348-A Frequency ranges 200–500 kHz and 1.5–18.0 MHz Device No. 0421 The unit features the heavy metal construction typical of these historic receivers and is an interesting collector’s item for enthusiasts of historic radio and communications technology. The unit is explicitly offered as untested. No functional test has been performed. Therefore no guarantee of operation is provided. The package also includes a historic headset. However, the headset cables are in aged, damaged condition; in particular at least one cable is significantly damaged and would need professional inspection or replacement.
