Still Life with Flowers, a Wooden Box, Grapes and a Chalice François Habert

François Habert, a pupil of the famous still-life painter Jan Davidsz de Heem, was active in Paris from around 1643 to 1652. Very little is known about his life; amongst other things, it is unclear whether he was French or Flemish. Habert’s paintings, of which only a handful are known to survive today, range from smaller, more understated still lifes to large-scale, sumptuous table scenes featuring elaborately decorated fabrics, food and objects. | tätig um 1650 | 15.-18.
