A0000004674 Item: SAFETY STILUS FOUNTAIN PEN, body and cap entirely plated in laminated gold with relief floral engraving, floral-design clip and retractable nib Length: 11.5 cm Diameter: 1.2 cm Nib: M Period: 1920s (1920s-1930s) Materials: 18K gold-lamé overlay with chased floral decoration on a guilloché background, inner body and black ebonite nib section, rear ebony twist knob, 14 carat gold nib stamped "Warranted 14 CT" Condition: Good for its age. The overlay preserves the gold plating well and the floral engraving is crisp along the entire body and cap; there are signs of use, micro-scratches and a small dent on the lower rim of the cap, as well as slight wear of the plating in wear areas and on the cap edge. The ebonite nib section shows the usual brown patina from aging. The nib is straight and with no apparent deformities; the twist mechanism extends and retracts the nib.
