taulen - Affiche écologiste « Marchons sur la B52 » –...

A militant and ecological French poster titled « Marchons sur la B52 », created for a demonstration organized in La Cadière, Var. Red-pressed on paper, illustrated with a humorous composition depicting a character watering a small plant by the roadside, with a stylized airplane in the background. The poster announces a day organized on a Saturday, August 3, including a 9:00 a.m. march, an “ecological crossroads” at 4:00 p.m., and a party at 9:00 p.m. The poster bears a handwritten signature or inscription in pencil at the bottom right, accompanied by what appears to be an annotation or date. The artist has not been identified with certainty to date. This piece is situated in the context of French environmental, pacifist, and oppositional movements of the second half of the 20th century. Its graphic design and handcrafted conception are characteristic of militant posters produced during that period. Dimensions: 44 × 32 cm. Old condition with central crease, browning and stains, handling marks, creases and small damage especially in the lower part. The photographs allow a precise assessment of the conservation state and are an integral part of the description. A relatively uncommon and interesting document for a collection dedicated to ecology, alternative movements, pacifism, and French militant posters.
