R. Short Date: 1747 Engraving on paper A historical maritime engraving depicting the fleet of George Anson, Baron of Soberton, and his flagship HMS Intrepid, formerly the French ship Serieux. The scene captures the grand naval formation and the ceremonial boarding of King George II’s yacht Carolina, attended by high-ranking officers and rowboats filled with crew members. This detailed engraving is dedicated to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty and was published under an Act of Parliament on March 26, 1747. 60 by 50 cm 77 by 68 cm
