“The True Face of Jesus” is a work of intense spirituality devoted to the figure of Jesus Christ, depicted through a close-up with great expressive power, capable of concentrating the entire composition on the face, the gaze, and the profound humanity of the Redeemer. Christ is depicted frontal, with long wavy hair, beard and a simple robe draped over the shoulders. There are no narrative or scenic elements to distract the observer: the whole power of the image resides in the direct contact with Jesus’ gaze, which seems to address the viewer personally. The expression is serene yet intense, gathered and at the same time penetrating. The eyes constitute the true emotional center of the composition: they convey warmth, compassion, and a quiet awareness, returning a Christ deeply human yet enveloped in a spiritual dimension immediately perceivable. The face does not express pain nor triumph, but a silent and contemplative presence, capable of evoking closeness, trust and contemplation.
