Timeless Cluster Ring with Sapphire and Diamonds, c. 1970s

The blue of a summer night that doesn't want to get completely dark is dotted with small twinkling stars. The chirping of crickets, the scent of jasmine and the occasional shooting star beguile our senses. A gentle breeze is blowing and nothing can make the evening more romantic than a ring that stands for eternal fidelity and therefore a promise. This ring reminds us of such a romantic scene. It features a natural sapphire weighing around 1.25 ct, surrounded by eight brilliant-cut white diamonds. The history of jewelry knows the special symbolism of this gemstone combination: the sapphire was considered a symbol of fidelity, truth and loyalty. The diamond, on the other hand, was often seen as a symbol of eternity due to its particular hardness. Our ring presents the classic combination of materials in a timeless cluster design. The ring face is slightly raised and holds its precious setting in white gold struts, allowing plenty of light to reach the gemstones. The cool, shiny white gold is visually understated. A perfect engagement ring. The ring was created in the 1970s and came to us from Westphalia.
