This bracelet from around 1930 consists of a total of 40 sparkling diamonds in beautiful individual cuts with a total weight of around 6.10 carats. The precious stones are graduated slightly in size, making the linear design slightly wider towards the middle: smaller diamonds of around 0.05 carats mark the hidden clasp, while larger diamonds of around 0.33 carats each form the highlight of this beautiful collection of precious gemstones. Each diamond in this piece of jewellery is unique, an individual: each of the cuts to be studied here has been developed by hand for the respective rough crystal. Each of the diamonds has its very own, unmistakable inclusion pattern and also a personal colour, which gives the bracelet such a beautiful fire. The diamonds are all set in fine platinum, with only the gallery and the catch forged from reddish gold. Fine rectangular frames hold the stones in groups of two and are connected to each other in a movable manner. Fine milegrains add thousands of additional highlights to the rectangular links. The bracelet, a so-called "rivière", flows softly around the arm like a river of light. The clasp visually disappears beneath the diamonds, creating the perfect illusion of a continuous diamond band with no beginning or end. This luxurious piece of jewellery was hand-forged in Switzerland in the first decades of the 20th century, and as the diamonds show the so-called transitional cut, a prefiguration of the modern brilliant-cut diamond ship, we date it to around 1930. This timelessly beautiful diamond bracelet from the Art Deco period is accompanied by an expert appraisal from the Bernese gemologist Dr. Walter Engel.
