A distinctive and atmospheric religious triptych, executed in wood and richly decorated with gold-colored/gilt finish. In the center is a hand-painted depiction of Mary with the Child Jesus, carried out in the traditional Orthodox/Byzantine iconographic style. The two hinged doors at the inside feature several small religious scenes and saints, including mounted saints. The outer sides of the doors are hand-painted with decorative floral and rose motifs. The whole has a very decorative and authentic appearance. The gilding, painting, and wood show clear signs of age and use, such as wear, small blemishes, scratches, and patina. These characteristics contribute to the character and appearance of the object. The back side and the old mounting are also present.
