Udinese - Italian Football League - Oliver Bierhoff - 1995 - Football jersey

Udinese Calcio 1995/96 – Oliver Bierhoff #20 – Hummel – Long Sleeve – Vintage Shirt Original vintage Udinese Calcio home shirt from the 1995/96 Serie A season, manufactured by Hummel, with Albatros main sponsor and personalised for Oliver Bierhoff #20. A particularly interesting example of the iconic Udinese shirt worn during Bierhoff’s first season with the club. Shirt details * Club: Udinese Calcio * Season: 1995/96 * Player personalisation: Oliver Bierhoff * Number: 20 * Manufacturer: Hummel * Sponsor: Albatros * Home version * Long sleeves * Period Hummel construction and fabric * Udinese crest applied in relief * Hummel chest logo applied in relief * Albatros sponsor applied to the front * BIERHOFF lettering applied in relief * Number 20 applied to the back, with Hummel details incorporated into the numbers Particularly interesting construction One of the most noteworthy characteristics of this shirt is the construction of its applications. The BIERHOFF name is not a modern flat print, but is applied in relief, consistent with the type of period personalisation visible on football shirts of this era. The number 20 is also separately applied and features the distinctive Hummel markings within the numbering. The Udinese crest, Hummel branding and sponsor are likewise applied rather than being simply printed into the fabric. These details, together with the long-sleeved configuration and period construction, make the shirt particularly interesting from a collector’s point of view. Provenance According to the current owner, the shirt was personally received from Francesco Guidolin. Guidolin was one of the most important Italian coaches of his generation and later also managed Udinese. This provenance is reported as part of the history of the shirt. No separate certificate or documentary evidence establishing match use accompanies the item. For this reason, although the shirt presents interesting period characteristics, it is not being offered or guaranteed as match-worn. Oliver Bierhoff and Udinese The 1995/96 season was Oliver Bierhoff’s first with Udinese. The German striker scored 17 Serie A goals in 31 league appearances that season and subsequently became one of the most important players in the history of the Friulian club. His years at Udinese culminated in the extraordinary 1997/98 season, when he became Serie A’s leading goalscorer with 27 goals. The combination of Bierhoff #20, the classic Hummel design, Albatros sponsorship and long sleeves makes this an attractive shirt for collectors of 1990s Serie A memorabilia. Condition The shirt is in very good vintage condition considering its age. The applications and personalisation are clearly visible in the detailed photographs. Please carefully examine all photographs, including the close-ups of the crest, Hummel logo, sponsor, BIERHOFF lettering and number 20. The photographs form an integral part of the description.
