Undated (1795) Washington Liberty and Security Penny. Musante GW-45

Undated (1795) Washington Liberty and Security Penny. Musante GW-45, Baker-30, W-11050. Copper. ASYLUM Edge. AU-55 BN (NGC). Uncommonly sharp in strike for the type with little actual wear and handsome toning in dominant autumn-brown. A few swirls of variegated color are evident in the left obverse field and at lower left reverse, latter side also with an old spot at the border past the letter D in AND. The usual unevenness in the rims is noted, which was caused by application of the lettered edge device. No marks or other blemishes come to the fore on hard, frosty surfaces that are smooth in most areas. PCGS# 764. NGC ID: CC42. Click here for certification details from NGC.
