Unworn Art Deco Style Earrings with Diamonds in White Gold, from Our Workshop

There are certain pieces of jewellery from every era that are particularly coveted and sought-after. From the Art Deco period, these include dangle earrings, which finally came back into fashion after many years of dominance by small stud earrings, dormeuses or even bare earlobes. But that's not all: the earrings were also intended to emphasize the new bob hairstyles, the hallmark of a new, emancipated type of woman. These earrings are therefore exemplary of the golden 1920s, a time of upheaval and innovation. But as sought-after as they are, they can sometimes be difficult to find. It was with this idea in mind, to remedy this shortage, that we had this pair of earrings made in our workshop. In the design, we stuck closely to period originals down to the last detail. A drop-shaped, lace-like openwork element in white gold is suspended from a yellow gold hoop. A brilliant-cut diamond shines in the center, surrounded by meticulous geometric details. Another, smaller diamond in a milgrains setting forms the transition between the pendulum and the practical leverback. We used sustainable materials in the manufacture of the earrings. The gold was obtained from older pieces of jewellery, as were the diamonds. In fact, this opens up another parallel to Art Deco jewels, as in antique pieces of jewellery from the 1920s we often find older diamonds that were obviously used for secondary purposes. With the advent of the modern forms of Art Déco, the jewellery fashions of the time had changed fundamentally, and many ladies had the diamonds from their out-of-fashion pieces of jewellery incorporated into new creations: An idea that appealed to us, especially from the point of view of sustainability.
